Katoptron theory will be offering our best explanation of fermion mass generation

After several years of LHC experiments operating in CERN (Geneva), Katoptron theory will have emerged as the leading explanation of the effective Higgs mechanism responsible for the masses of elementary particles. In addition, we will have enough evidence to rule out most of alternative theories predicting supersymmetric particles around the TeV energy scale or extra dimensions around the TeV energy scale.

Evidence for Katoptron theory, coming from the actual production of katoptrons and possibly deviations of parameters like V_tb and A_t, might come even earlier than 2020. However, by 2020 we will have gathered enough experimental data from LHC in order to limit statistical uncertainties to a level giving us confidence in the existence of katoptrons. By that date, experimental and theoretical refinements will have reached a status allowing katoptrons to be incorporated in the widely accepted body of scientific knowledge.

Reason

Katoptron theory is unique in being able to predict the TeV energy scale within a framework of unification of fundamental interactions. Alternative theories introduce the TeV energy scale ad hoc or offer just self-consistent, not explanatory, solutions.

Will this proove string theory?

Katoptron theory is in principle consistent with string theory, since it can emanate from a 10-dimensional E8*E8 unified gauge theory (see Physics Letters B 489, 420 (2000). Therefore, proof of katoptron theory, far from being the proof of string theory, can be viewed as an encouraging sign for it. To make the connection with string theory theoretically complete, one needs to prove that the compactification manifold used in the reference above is stable when gravitational degrees of freedom are taken into account.

I may not be smart enough to understand all this but best of luck to all the scientists working on this project. You guys are the people that push humanity to the next level

Is this experiment going to swallow the earth?

No Jennifer it will NOT swallow the earth. There's simply not enough energy. Besides the earth gets pounded by tons of high energy particles many times stronger than anything man made, every day for the past 4 billion years and nothing has happened. So, we are SAFE.

GT, Your comment regarding a 'discrete deeper structure' made the hair on my arms stand on end. Has anyone coined a term or should we settle for DDS for now?

It seems our onion has many layers in all directions and your work helping to peel them away brings tears of joys to my old eyes. I may indeed live to see the antiPeriodic Table!

@ Mr. JJG Craft: thank you for your kind comment! The idea that spacetime might be lattice-like and not continuous is an old one, but no precise description of this lattice's structure had been given so far. My previous comment is alluding to the Nielsen-Ninomiya theorem, according to which a lattice-like spacetime renders the inclusion of mirror particles (ie "katoptrons") imperative.
Regarding "Tables", we will most probably see a mirror "Hadronic Table", analogous to the one we saw in QCD.
